Well, at least the work week is over and I’ll be able to rest a bit. Uh, yeah right! That was a good one! 4 kids = no rest EVER. At least they’re cute! And funny. They ARE pret-ty fun-nay.
You know what else I’m tired from? Searching the amazing world wide web for a bar stool that I just cannot find. Grrrrrr!! Maybe one of you will have better luck? I know Laura, yes you girl!, is awesome at the searches. I need your help!

Do you see how these stools completely make these rooms? I know that I haven’t given bar stools much thought myself, but honestly they can transform your space.
There are SO many choices, it’s seriously overwhelming! I think I went a little cray searching, but chances are that one of these I found might be just the chair you’ve been looking for! And I didn’t really stick to a budget per se, but I found that bar stools are actually pretty affordable.
Just promise me one thing? Don’t go for the cheapie leather look? And don’t just get what’s on sale? Oh, wait. That’s two, but whatever! Find the perfect stool and then… well, just marvel at your awesomeness!

As for where I stand on this whole bar stool debacle? Still standing, actually! I’ve not found “it” yet… or have I? I’m just completely overwhelmed and unsure. I was hoping for something with unique legs, and a back…not too industrial, not formal, comfortable, vintage perhaps.
I’d love to hear your suggestions! I even saw these on ebay…

This is a timely post for me Jessica. I too am in the market for some stools. I’ll be honest…I find a lot of bar stools to be hideous! I think it’s hard to get the proportions right -a lot of them are chairs with out-of proportion legs which just ends up looking weird to me. AND I’ve found that most bar stools that I like are over 1K each. OY. I’m wishing you and me good luck in finding the right ones 😉

We got some cheap stools at BB&B just to have SOMETHING while we searched for the perfect bar stools. 2 years later, I’m still searching!!! I am schizo over whether I want a true stool or something more like a chair. You’ll just have to come over and pick some for me!
Julie!! You’re so sweet to read my blog! You know, I think it would be easier if we all had someone else pick out our bar stools for us! It’s like sometimes you just get so bogged down in the choices… there’s like a gazillion choices on-line and 3 in the stores. Oh well, at the end of the day they’re really only extra-tall chairs, right?! And so much more fun to obsess over vs the “real” stresses in life…ie, preschools, eating enough vegetables, putting on sunscreen =)
You rang? My personal preference is to stay away from stools with arms — they take up a lot of space, make it hard to turn to see what’s sneaking up behind you, and are tough to push all the way under the counter top. How about one of these?

BTW, I have faux leather bar stools from HomeGoods, but don’t judge me. They have great chrome footrests and a low back so they don’t loom over my counter tops. I usually dither, but when I saw that there were 4 of them, I snapped them up like whiplash.
Hooray! I knew you would find the stool! Okay, so after I had a great laugh over your intro, I called Organic Modern right away. Boo! They have none in stock and may possibly get more in December. I guess they have already sold 9 of the 12 that are coming and I’m so worried to order something that I can’t see first! (Or return – store credit only) What is a girl to do?! Then I saw the words, I dare you and you know what?! I love the idea! I’m sure they’re crazy expensive but I think the palm chair is awesome! With that said, girl, you know I do not judge!! I put vinyl on my grandmother’s old chairs and I think it looks great! Plus it’s so easy to clean!!
