10 Products that Changed my Life

Hi Friends!!

I’m sure you have things that you’ve bought that either you continue to buy because they’re so good, or you just thank your lucky stars that you took that faithful credit card swipe.  You maybe be thinking, oh my refrigerator, my washer and dryer, and yes, those ARE products that changed my life… but I’m not talking about those.  I’m talking about simple things that we use on a day to day, that just work, make me feel comfortable or help my family – simple stuff.

So, here’s my list of things that I LOVE and that you can totally buy right now for yourself.  It’s a pretty random list … a little of this and a little of that…

  1. Dyson Vaccum

I bought my first Dyson in 2003, the 07 animal model.  You guys, I still have it.  I have changed the hose twice (a cost of $45 per hose) but the vacuum works… like stuff is sucked towards it.  Last year, I upgraded to the pink animal ball and that one is freaking fabulous too!  If you are buying a vacuum, please don’t even think about getting anything else!!

2. Terro Fruit Fly Trap

There you go to grab a beautiful ripe banana, and several fruit flies ascend on you like the plague!  Having fruit flies is almost as frustrating as dealing with gophers… it’s like nothing can get rid of them!  Until now!!  This little apple is incredible… for $6 you can cross the impossible off your list – No more flies on your fruit!!  No more embarrassment!  No more feeling like you’re living on a safari camp site.

3.  Skechers Bobs Shoes

Want to know one of my biggest pet peeves?!  When I buy a pair of shoes and there is literally not a scrap of comfort; no support, no care whatsoever for the condition of my feet, nothing.  Well, these shoes are comfortable as hell.  I purchased mine at Macy’s about a year ago and they look cute, fit great and have memory foam inside.  Then I found them on Amazon for (what?!?) $16 bucks.  That’s seriously how much a pair of inserts cost!!  I’ll take two, please.

4.  Finish All-in-One Powerballs

I know.  Can it get more boring than dishwasher detergent?  Probably not, but seriously, it’s no fun when you go to unload the washer and there’s residue on your glasses.  Not fun at. all.  Actually, it’s pretty gross.  So, I use these and they’re awesome.  No measuring, making it easy, and they’re pretty cheap too.

5.  Forever 21 Bralette’s

Girlfriends, these are so my favorites.  They are cheap.  And so comfortable.  AND look really nice under shirts, since they’re seamless.  Added bonus?  If a neck line is a bit low or the sides of your arm holes are long on your shirt, no problem, it will look like you meant it.  Like you will be really stylish without even trying.

6.  Hyland’s Teething Tablets

My friend, Becca turned me on to these 4 kids ago, and let me tell you, they are amazing.  They work WITHIN MINUTES.  I’m not sure if they are made of witchcraft or witch hazel (more like chamomile since they’re homeopathic) but either way it’s like a magic pill.  Use these on your bae and thank me later.

7.  Nature’s Miracle Pet Stain Remover

If you have a pet, I’m sure you have some of this – or at least I HOPE you do!!  Pets are like kids, big time mess makers.  This stuff cleans up all of it; urine, poo, vomit, grass stains, blood, ALL OF IT.  It literally eats the the stuff in animal urine, so you can pour it on and let it dry on the stain…. it will take the stain away.  Do you believe me?!  On top of all that, it can be used almost anywhere.  You guys, I used it on a jute rug.  JUTE!!  It’s amazing and even if there are no accidents I use it to clean my pooches dog beds and towels.

8.  Dermadoctor KP Duty Lotion

Holy sh!t, I love this stuff.  I use it every other day (religiously) and have been a loyal fan for over 4 years.  Do you have little red bumps on your arms or legs or? … don’t tell me where, but do you?  Some people call it “chicken skin” which sounds all kinds of unpleasant, but if you are like me, you know what I’m talking about.  This lotion cures that.  In about A DAY!!  I only use it on my arms and a big bottle lasts a year.  If I were to be stranded on a desert island I think I would have to take this!!

9.  Strapz No-tie Shoelaces

For $2.99 you can save your sanity.  Imagine my morning, tying shoelaces for 4 kids.  Oh my gosh, just thinking about it gets my blood pressure up!!  It’s so stressful.  And then, if you want to have a no-shoes-in-the-house policy and the kids go in and out, it’s damn psychotic-break inducing.  Enter the salvation – No tie shoelaces.  It’s so simple, it’s genius.  Don’t worry the kids will learn to tie their shoes… it just won’t be traumatic for you anymore!

10.  Eneloop Rechargeable Batteries

Here’s another fun and useful product that will make your life a bit happier.  I was changing the batteries in my wireless mouse and keyboard WAY too often.  It was such a pain.  I felt like I was killing the environment… all those batteries just couldn’t be good.  And they’re not.  Enter Eneloop batteries with a recharging mechanism.  I know this is nothing new in the world, but this one is super affordable, at $35 bucks from Costco, and it will keep your smile in place even when you see that pesky low battery warning.

I told you it was a random little list.  But these are all things that I use on the daily and that I truly love.

Are there any products that are your favorites?  ‘Cause you know, sharing is caring!

Happy Friday!

  1. Nice list. One item I’d want you to squeeze in is Oxyclean. I put two tablespoons in every load and it gets out grease, smells and whitens whites. Plus it prevents my front loader from having that horrible mildewy odor that seems ubiquitous to front load machines. -Caitlin

    1. Hi Caitlin! I SO need more information! You put a scoop of oxyclean right into the washer? On top of the clothes? The powder kind? I’ve always been scared to do that because I’ve wondered if it would clump up on the clothes. Please send all the details because I’d love to do it today =) I’ve got a stack of white baseball pants just crying out for help!!

    1. Oh for heaven’s sake — PROOFREAD before hitting enter!!!! “no more white dryer ball lint on my black clothes.”

      MUCH better . . . .

      1. LOL! I am embarrassingly FANATIC about these — such a clever idea! Let me know what you think once you try them!!

The funny thing about laundry, is that EVERYONE does it, and everyone has issues. Proof — the oxyclean comment above! Anything that makes the job easier, am I right? Tips are always welcome . . . .

You could probably do an entire series about laundry, no joke (and yes, I know it is outside your wheelhouse, as far as your blog is concerned)

        Cheers!

        1. Hi Laura! I wish I could do an entire post!! But in all honesty, I’m not very knowledgeable about laundry (despite the fact that our machines are hardly ever not in use). In fact, I’d love to read that too! Let’s keep our eyes out for good info and let each other know! Ciao!!
