Ho, Ho, Ho! Happy Gifting!

Happy Holidays to my cheerful peeps!

I have been shopping like a FIEND.  Like it’s my job, yo.  The good news, is that I LOVE giving presents… I love shopping, I love spending the dolla-dolla bills y’all!  I even love wrapping gifts with painstaking care, only to have them ripped apart like the animals my closest friends and family are.  LOVE. IT.

But, I also really love to GET gifts.  Maybe it’s because I never felt spoiled as a kid, but dang, I love me some presents.  These days, I pretty much spoil myself, because, well, it’s cheaper than therapy!!  I do try to hold back on the “wants” though, and focus on the needs.  Like I need  cute shoes to go with this dress vs. I want this dress I’ll never wear ’cause I don’t have a life.  See??

So to help my family out, I concoct these pretty pictures (that take hours, omg) so that I’m guaranteed a happy dance and they’re guaranteed an authentic performance!

Cozy Sweatpants, Funnel Sweatshirt, Vionic Slip-on Sneakers, Ember Mug, Elizabeth Arden Capsules, Copper Infused Sleep Mask, Over the door Mirror, Horne Tea Kettle, Spatula Set

Cozy sweats, yes please.  Every year the same thing, you say.  Hellz to the yes.  Personalized wooden spoons make my heart happy and a warming mug that is waaaaayyyy toooooooo expensive, is just the ultimate luxury for my coffee addicted soul.  The shoes, perfection.  I would wear those OUT.

Levi’s Sherpa Bomber, Betsy Johnson Belt Bag, Clinique Eyeshadow, Sculptural Flushmounts, Zak Waterbottle, Heart Earrings, Laser Hair Remover, Magnetic Eyelashes, Pizza Wheel, IPhone Case

I want those flush mounts in a bad way.  I think they’d be magic down the hallway, so Santa maybe sending those in the new year if they’re not under the tree.  Wink.  I find myself drinking more water with a cute bottle, the jacket is amaze and the fanny!  Sing my fanny song with me…”I’m bringing Fanny Pack!  YA!”  Yup, I rock a fanny pack and YOU CAN’T STOP ME.

MagnoGrip, Black Marble Bath Tub, Pixie Lip Butter, Loghan Sunglasses, Heat GunWarm Boot Socks, Velour Shirt & Pants,  Good Genes Serum, Tea Variety Set, Diffuser

A velour outfit that I could actually wear… it just looks cool for pick-ups.  I want that serum…. it’s marketed like magic in a bottle and my dry skin could use some magic.  A heat gun?!  It’s a gun that shoots heat, which is also like magic.  And everything else here would totally get used and loved.  I mean, who doesn’t want socks and lip gloss?

If you’ve look through these you’re probably wondering why I’m so darn boring!!  I like my comfort!  HA!  I’m obsessed with sweaters and tools, easy make-up and plants that won’t die.  A cheeky, retro t-shirt would totally be my jam!  I’m a simple girl.  What can I say?!?  (Said the girl who wants a marble bath tub.)

So, there ya have it!

What’s on your list?

Mint-To-Be

Friends,

It’s been 4 weeks since my last confession.

And are you ready for it? ‘Cause it’s a whopper. I have done nothing, zippo, NADA on the bathroom. I have spent the last few weeks putting names on the backs of jerseys and embroidering hats. And if you are wondering if I’ve lost a bit of my brain cells after doing over 200 jerseys and 100 hats – then yes, I would say yes.

Wait. What were we talking about again?

Anyhoo, the good news is that baseball season has started so I’m pretty much done with all that mess!! Yaaaaayyyy! And now I can get back to tooling around the bathroom and buying up estate sales. Smile emoji.

Since I don’t have awesome progress shots, I figured I could show you these super cute party favors that we gave out at my sister’s engagement party on December 30. Why am I telling you the specific date (it’s not just because I’m a crazy lady) it’s so you can get an idea of the time frame… not Christmas, not New Years, but definitely still holiday time.

I came up with this fun mood board that my mom then made into reality…

It’s got plaids, but in pinks, blues and reds, which I think totally spells L-O-V-E winter style! And then we added lots of golds, candles and a dope Champagne Bar!

For the favors, I gave her these options…

These are exactly what I sent her, peeps – I found them in my email (cause I lost a bunch of files off my computer last week, which was super fun. Not.) It ain’t the cutest board I’ve ever made, but you get the idea.

She was very into the mint case. Yes! Love to have mints in the car. Love. It.

I found these cute silver mint cases on Amazon for $0.50 a case! Totally not bad! You’ll also need paper, foam tape, a glue pen and glue tape.

Then I got to work… I was able to cut out some rings on my Cricut and layered ’em all up with foam pieces for height that I cut by hand from foam tape. Like so…

You totally don’t need a Cricut, but it certainly makes the job easier! Once they’re all glued up, fill them with mints and stack them artfully.

They look so cute!!

Just an idea for you guys! I’ll try to get my booty in gear this week. I’ve got to skim coat those darn walls.

Happy New Year! Let’s Get Cleansing

Happy New Year My Peeps!!

I am feeling so… optimistic about this year. I REALLY want it to be a good one.

And I have to tell you that 2017 was a bit rough for our family – not in terrible ways or even really that bad. It just wasn’t GREAT, y’know? And honestly, it hasn’t started off that well so far because all 6 of us have been recovering from the WORST. COLD. IN. THE. UNIVERSE. It’s the sickness that doesn’t die.
Listen sickness. I’m going to kill you. It’s on.

So, in the spirit of get rid of bad germs/vibes/negative energy, I’m thinking I’ll start 2018 by doing a cleansing of the house. I’m not entirely sure I believe in it all, but hey, I DO believe in the placebo effect!! If I WILL it, IT WILL BE!! I found this easy to understand article here about burning sage or sandalwood. Yes. I can do that. Easily enough, I plopped over to Etsy and grabbed 3 bundles from Weekend Warrior TX for $3.75 for a 3″er. There is a 5″ option, but maybe that seems like a lot… or perhaps I needed a 10″ with these knuckleheads. Who knows? We’ll see how cleansed I feel after one, and the others should make a nice gift to my mom and friend. (Hi Mom!)

So that’s fun.

I’m not sure how crazy I’m going to get with resolutions, but I definitely need to get my butt back into the powder room with some drywall and I’d love to grow my following on Chairish. Selling has been a surprising new hobby, that has certainly taken me away from home stuff, but I’m having fun for now and I’m all about letting my heart roam where it wants. One day, fix up a vintage piece… the next sew up a cushion. I’m happy with that.

Of course, if I had to nail down a few improvements I’m looking to make this year, it’s to keep the house tidier and to drink more water and to HAVE MORE FUN!! My boys have been slowly coming around to helping me more with chores and that’s going to continue (much to their dismay, I’m sure). In the past, I held on for dear life and was just happy if there were clean socks in the morning. But it’s the future now and it’d be nice if I didn’t say things like “dear life.” Or things like, “Did you flush?”, “What’s in that tissue on the floor?”, “How long has it been since we cleaned your ears?” I literally said all of these before 8am this morning. So, baby steps.

And progress is really all we can aim for. Be better humans. Period. And if you’re feeling damn extra, figure out why the lights keep making those weird noises.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
