Did you get the memo? It’s fall, y’all.
And I for one am kind of playing catch up. All over the place I’m seeing holiday decorations (I mean cummon!!) and the web is a-flutter with pumpkins and plaid. But here? Well, let’s just say I have yet to put the pool towels away… and there have been zero closed toe shoes in sight. Can I get an amen!?!
It’s pretty hard to get into the change in weather when it’s still so, well so gosh darned summery outside! Maybe we can just ease our way into it? And my favorite way to do that is with fun inspiration!
Right now I’m loving orange and my friends, it is everywhere! I recently read an article (for the life of me I can’t find it now) where the homeowner had a lacquered orange dining area and she said that orange is like a neutral. Lacquered + Orange + Neutral = Could those things really go together?? It certainly got me thinking…
I’ve always had a bit of a fascination with orange… it’s one of those colors that’s hard to pin down. It’s gender neutral and it can go so many ways – serious, exuberant, rustic, modern, daring, traditional. In my last home I had an orange kitchen and it definitely elicited an opinion – people were either strangle drawn to the color or they hated it.
