Hi!
Have you ever wondered what in the world you could do with your dried up, formerly glorious Christmas tree? I swear, I think about this every year… then I drag the pine needle dropping, dried up thing to the curb. It’s just too much work and let’s be honest, we all don’t really have time to cut up our old trees. Well, rest assured that most of the trees are actually recycled – so that’s good.
But in case you’re wondering what could be possible with a bit of hacking, I did a quick search. This just may be the year… Tree reincarnated!!
Ya, everyone’s done it, but these coasters are still cute!
A pencil holder! Easy and useful!
Again, we’ve all seen this, but now might be the time since you’ve got the tree and all…
Got a bunch of friends with trees? This arbor is pretty, well, pretty!
Or does your tree have a ton of branches?
How about a table?
Or these hooks look fairly simple to replicate. They’re birch but you get the idea!
Maybe you’d really like to go all out? Full Monty this thing!!
I seriously found so much inspiration! Maybe you’re a bit inspired to take a second look too?
Let’s see what we can come up with… my favorite right now is that pencil holder. That I may just add to the to-do list =)
**Coat rack can be found here.
Great ideas here but honestly by the time new year’s comes around, I can’t get rid of my tree soon enough! I have a game I play with my son where we text each other photos of dried up xmas trees left on the curb really late in the season (saw one in March last year). San Francisco, thankfully composts trees, and I’ve noticed this year that the city is picking them up right away, possibly because last year there was a trend among naughty ones to set them on fire on the street. -Caitlin
