Hot Caramel!

Hi Friends!

Are you guys craving fall colors the way I am?!  I am SO crushing on everything caramel – it’s darker than mustard, lighter than honey and ooohhhh so yummy!!  I have a feeling that brown is going to make a big comeback and why not start warming up spaces with caramel right now?!  That’s what I’m saying!!

And the thing I love most about this color, is that it literally goes with everything. It warms up grays tones beautifully, makes red have more depth and with blue or green? Shut the front door.

Adding in black accents and brass/gold fixtures, really gives a nice sophisticated but cool vibe, not too fancy, not too casual.

And just ’cause I lovez to shop, here are some CAR-A-MELOO things to add into the mix!  Those shoes are being delivered today (whoop!) and I’m so into the chair from CB2, the wallpaper and the rug pillow!  Ah, who am I kidding?  I kinda want them all =)

Color Crush – Red Orange

Hi friends!

Yowza it’s been a long time since I’ve done a color crush.  And, you guys, I’m SO HAPPY to be seeing color again!  YES!!  I know that even I painted a few rooms white, but sheesh, everything white is just sooooo plain toast.  Y’know?  Finally some flava!

So, let’s just feast on this here color.  It’s so BOLD, yet classy.  My eyeballs are ALIVE!  And it ain’t boring.  Interestingly, I’ve seen the color only referred to as Red Orange… which is kinda weird.  Like, is it not worthy of a totally misprounceable name- WHICH IT TOTALLY IS.  ‘Cummon Pantone let’s aubergine the crap outta this color.  That being said… you know you’re looking at the right color when you’re thinking, “Is it red?  Or is it orange?”  It’s RED ORANGE!

And it is bad.  But in a good way.

The saturation of the hue really lends itself to being paired with blues.  It ain’t too shabby with neutrals either.  And yes, you guessed it, red orange looks pretty dope with red and orange.

Someone VERY interesting lives here.

Here too.  You get the idea.

That wall.  THAT FREAKING WALL.  It’s all kinds of awesomeness.

Today, I could use that wall color in my life.

Color Crush – Rookwood Sash!

Sometimes a color is so darn goooood, you literally do a double take.

I love color.  And this modern take on green is just perfection.  It’s like your 20 year old green, just turned 30.  More confident.  More sophisticated.  This green is just a tad wiser.

And where did I see it?  You probably saw it too!  The West Elm Catalog…

Now, there’s not a slew of pictures for this color, but I did find a pretty dope one.

With a pink ceiling?!?!  Get outta here!  This room is too much!  In, like, the best way possible.

I don’t know about you, but I think Rookwood would look so great on some shutters… or maybe even the front door.

Wheels are spinning!!

What do you think?  Would you use Rookwood in your house?

Happy Creating!  Jessica
