Yowza it’s been a long time since I’ve done a color crush. And, you guys, I’m SO HAPPY to be seeing color again! YES!! I know that even I painted a few rooms white, but sheesh, everything white is just sooooo plain toast. Y’know? Finally some flava!
So, let’s just feast on this here color. It’s so BOLD, yet classy. My eyeballs are ALIVE! And it ain’t boring. Interestingly, I’ve seen the color only referred to as Red Orange… which is kinda weird. Like, is it not worthy of a totally misprounceable name- WHICH IT TOTALLY IS. ‘Cummon Pantone let’s aubergine the crap outta this color. That being said… you know you’re looking at the right color when you’re thinking, “Is it red? Or is it orange?” It’s RED ORANGE!
And it is bad. But in a good way.
The saturation of the hue really lends itself to being paired with blues. It ain’t too shabby with neutrals either. And yes, you guessed it, red orange looks pretty dope with red and orange.
Someone VERY interesting lives here.
Here too. You get the idea.
That wall. THAT FREAKING WALL. It’s all kinds of awesomeness.
Today, I could use that wall color in my life.

So, awesome news – I think I scored last week with an amazing find! One that, sadly I can’t use myself, but that I can SHARE WITH YOU! It’s a kitchen island!! Aaaahhhhh! It’s so purdy that I just want to stare at it all. day. long.
As you may know, I have a Chairish shop where I’ve been listing all the fun pieces that I can’t cram into my house. Please follow me so you can be the first to see what’s new. And, my friends, this beauty should be up there next week!! Handmade, one of a kind, weathered to perfection. LOVE IT.
So just for fun, I thought I would put her into some kitchens that are all over the inter webs and see how she would look. (I did a bit o’ cutting and pasting, so it’s not perfect, but you get the idea!) I especially think this piece is spectacular in a more rustic kitchen, but dang, all of these be looking good! It’s really a perfect jumping off piece to design a whole kitchen around. Here’s a bit of inspiration! Enjoy!

Do you love this island as much as I do?!? I’m especially enamored by the wood covered screw holes and how the maker carefully selected some wood pieces that had holes in them – it’s just so special.
Looking for a trend that could actually save you money and looks fabulous?!? YES!!
I’m so digging the fancy, statement bathroom niche trend! Keep the surrounding tile simple (and affordable), then spend just a little for a WOW moment in the niche. It’s such a great idea!
One day, in the far future, when I redo the tile in my master bath, I may just have to get me a fergilicious niche!!
The one negative? Your bottles are totally on display! Including that nubby soap bar and bright pink razor… Ooohhh, they should start making brass and glass razors. Heart-eye Emoji!!

So, that’s what’s on my mind today! With 3 of 4 boys in school and still recovering from my vacation cold (why?!?!) I’m slowly getting back into the rhythm of real life. It’s hard, right?? I’ve been describing the summer as this big black hole, because when you have kids around the house, you don’t want to work, you don’t want to sand tables – you just want to play all day!!
Are you guys in the same boat?
