1 Hour 3 Thrift Stores

Hi There!

How was everyone’s Thanksgiving?! I think I’m still stuffed from the bounty – I love it! And we spent the next few days reveling in family time and staying away from the mall action. I did partake in some on-line shopping, but ‘cummon, it’s so easy! I had to! And what did I purchase?! A beauteous new miter saw. Yay, for muah! My first project, which of course I will share, is going to be a vent cover. Fancy, I know.

I have been wanting to do the 1 Hour thrifting challenge for soooo long. Monday morning I finally got my chance! No one would miss me for such a short while… I decided to tackle the three closest thrift shops to my house. Here’s what I found:

Salvation Army, Stop Numero Uno and where I spent a good 1/2 hour – whoops!

Listed for $40 each, but I’m sure you could get a deal and they actually had 5 of these! Super sturdy!!

$40 and I think it would be so cute in a kids room with a new cushion of course!

$20 for the set of 6. Malachite is so hot right now!

Goodwill, Second Stop on the treasure train and I was in and out in 8 minutes – no kidding!

So, yeah I struck out pretty bad at the last stop even though I was feeling good about it. Alas, thrift store hunting is all about the chase and I would say that 9 times out of 10 I end up with a bag full of nothing! I did however decide last minute to get the 6 little pots. I love the look of little succulents and I think they’d look so cute in these. I’d never put any flowers or water in my collectible pieces, so my small investment might just pay off in a cute holiday vignette. We will see!

What do you like best? Anything?

I’m still thinking about that wicker settee for the kids room, but they’re boys and will probably think it’s lame. Boo.

September Flea Market Finds

Hi Everyone!

You all know how much I LOVE me a flea market! And we finally got to make it to the Rose Bowl, after a few months of scheduling conflicts/bdays/and such. I was happier than a fat boy eatin’ cake!! So happy in fact, that the extreme heat almost didn’t bother me… almost.

But now I’m excited to show you what I scored. Lots of new projects on my to-do list!

Here are the pieces I dug, but didn’t make the cut…

These lights would be soooo cool in a bathroom

Love the detail on the chairs and the rounded back. They just need a little paint, but I would make the seats more cushy too with extra padding and possibly a chinoiserie fabric.

H&M Sells Home Stuff!

Hi Everyone!

Did you know that H&M just recently opened their on-line store and they’re selling HOME STUFF!! So Fun! I’m in love with on-line window browsing. Therapy.

If you actually shop in their stores, you know they have got some hip, funky clothes and the home line does not disappoint. I’m not sure if it fits with my “age group” (hate to be all ancient sounding), but they have totally great stuff for college age kids and baby/kids. Mostly, I think their stuff is perfect for early 20’s. Then again…I did buy something. (Got me there H&M.)

Okay, okay so there are definitely lots of cute things and a few ideas that I’m totally going to steal. You will have to check out the line to see what I’m referring to with the age thing… maybe it’s just me??
