Glass Panels!

Hi!

Wanna come over and see my new doors?!

Actually, they’re not entirely new, but oh my gosh, they feel sooooo different!!

Lookie… Before

IMG_0237 FullSizeRender IMG_0238You can see how they simply removed the door trim and changed out the damaged glass.

FullSizeRender-2There is a bit of patching and painting that needs to be done but What. A. Difference.

Maybe it doesn’t seem like much in the photos, but the light in the entry has completely changed.  It’s so much brighter.  And the doors look more modern now.

Although, I have to confess that a bit of me was sad to see the tulips go.  If they weren’t cracked then I know I would have kept them… I just keep imagining that the kids who grew up here (their parents built the home)  will come over and be devastated that everything has changed – even their beloved tulips…which their grandmother had picked out…and now she’s dead…and then they would hate me and spit on the lawn…

It could happen.

And now that I’ve written down the words, it probably will happen.  FML.

Sooooo, back to the doors.  If you’re interested in having something like this done and you’re in the LA area definitely call Flash Glass!  They did a perfect job – and I NEVER say that.  They made the panels in 2 weeks and installed them in 30 minutes.

I got to see the panel during production to give a thumbs up!

Now I can check that off the todo list!!

The spitters can’t take that one away from me!  Happy Creating, Jessica

  1. I agree, the new panels are really very nice. I can just imagine the different colors of light dancing in your foyer when the light is shinning through.

I also love your foo dogs. I noticed that you had one in your hallway as well. I don’t know why I never thought of getting one of these for my place. Can you please tell me how big they are (they seem like a good size for the house), where you got them. and what they are made of.

Thanks so much and keep on creating.

Oh yes, one more thing, did you get a rug for your hallway yet?

    1. Hi Jenny! No rug yet… I’m so torn with the kids and dogs in the house, I need something super durable or inexpensive enough to change out in a year or two. Any ideas?!

The foo dogs get a lot of attention around here! We found them about 6 years ago at a flea market and totally thought they would go outside. But we just never did it and now they seem so happy right where they are. I think we paid $200 for both… I can’t be sure, but they’re not stone, they’re actually like a resin material, so much lighter to move around but still resilient. Size-wise, they’re each 3 ft tall, 1 ft wide and 2 ft deep.

Thank you so much for following along! And please if you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them… I’m always hitting the wall on stuff!!

      Jessica
